Contra Costa deputy briefly hospitalized after vehicle pursuit ends in Oakand freeway crash OAKLAND — A Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputy was briefly hospitalized early Saturday when their vehicle was struck by a truck that was being pursued, authorities said.The pursuit began about 1:55 a.m. Saturday after a deputy attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle in El Sobrante. Death of 63-year-old woman found on sidewalk deemed accidental (BCN) -- The death of a 63-year-old woman found on a sidewalk last month with serious injuries in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood has been ruled accidental, police said Monday. The woman, who has not been identified, was found July 3 in the area of Third Street and Egbert Avenue. Petaluma man wearing only fur-lined boots and speedo arrested on weapons charges She had life-threatening injuires and was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries.
